NY Post reporting:
Could Sideshow Bob’s days be numbered?
With “The Simpsons” writers preparing to kill off one of the show’s main characters, even the Vegas oddsmakers are getting into the act.
“The Simpsons” executive producer Al Jean said earlier this week that one of the show’s characters will be dispatched — dropping the intriguing hint that “The actor playing the character won an Emmy for playing that character.”
Online gaming site bovada.lv jumped on the news, and is already setting odds on which “Simpson” character will meet his or her maker — and it’s not looking good for Sideshow Bob, Krusty the Clown’s TV sidekick voiced by Kelsey Grammer.
Sideshow Bob (real name: Robert Terwilliger, Jr.) is the odds-on favorite to be killed off, followed by Penelope Owsley (Anne Hathaway) — who also works on Krusty’s TV kiddie show — Krusty himself (Dan Castellaneta — also the voice of Homer) and Grandpa Abe (also Castellaneta).
Grammer, Hathaway and Castellaneta have all won Emmys for their work on “The Simpsons.”
Far down on the death list? Homer’s friend, Carl, corpulent Chief Wiggum and Homer’s Godfearing neighbor, Ned Flanders — who already lost his wife, Maude, who was killed way back in 2000 after being hit by a T-shirt shot by an air-compressed cannon. Meanwhile, Fox announced late Friday that it’s renewed “The Simpsons” for a 26th season.
