So here is a breaking story.
Pope Benedict XVI has announced his resignation that will be effective as of February 28. While this is the first time in nearly 600 years that a pope has stepped down, he says that he is becoming to old to hold the papacy. Officials from the church have stated that he is in good health and that there are no illnesses holding him from ruling, but he is aging.
The Papacy will remain open till the end of March when the Vatican has decided on the next pope.
