A 74-year-old man arrested in Gilbert on Wednesday faces an armed robbery charge after police said he robbed a Burger King at gunpoint.

Police said James Richard Miletta entered the Burger King in the 600 block of South Val Vista Drive, and told the cashier “he was having a bad day,” Gilbert police spokesman Sgt. Jesse Sanger said in a release.
Miletta then brandished a handgun and demanded the money from the register, and then fled in a car after taking an undisclosed amount of cash, Sanger said.
Officers located the vehicle about five minutes later and conducted a high-risk traffic stop on Val Vista Drive near Elliot Road, Sanger said.
Police said Miletta was taken into custody without incident and booked into the Fourth Avenue Jail in Phoenix. He is being held on $48,000 bond.
The handgun was recovered and there were no injuries, police said.
My grandpa is 74 years old, and I can’t imagine him sticking up a Burger King. He can’t just grab it and go. He would have to explain to the cashier, in fine detail, what the money is for and how he is going to spend it. Could you see your grandfather do something like this? What are some things you see going wrong if he attempted a heist?
