From Examiner.com:
Eddie Van Halen is home recuperating after surgery and has taken a moment to thank fans and provide an update on his condition.
The iconic rock guitarist, who is recovering after spending three weeks in hospital following emergency intestinal surgery, left a message on his facebook page on Friday (8/31/12), expressing his appreciation to fans for their “cool comments.”
The “Panama” hitmaker posted, “Thank you for all of your cool comments! Hanging out, taking it easy and following the doctors orders.”
Van Halen suffered a flare up of diverticulitis while on the road with VH’s A Different Kind of Truth North American tour and needed emergency surgery to remove an infected intestine.
The condition worsened when the veteran rocker “popped a few stitches,” which led to infection.
The iconic guitarist has returned home and is expected to make a full recovery in approximately six months.
The ongoing health issue caused the postponement and eventual cancellation of over 30 concert dates in Canada and the U.S. this summer and has forced VH to postpone their upcoming tour of Japan, originally slated for November.
