Date: The Brewfest will be on June 16, 2012. This is Father’s Day weekend and the annual event “Tsunami on the Square” is planned for this weekend on the Courthouse Square which is likely to generate a good amount of people/tourists in the area. We are working with the Tsunami Committee on cross-promotional advertising. The City of Prescott is working with the committee to mark the festival as a “signature” event, ensuring that it will become a high-profile annual event.
Downtown Location/Set-Up: The event will be located on the corner of Montezuma and Goodwin Streets. On Montezuma St., one city block will be shut down starting from the crosswalk at Goodwin Street to Carlton Street. The City parking lot and the Pierce lot located on Montezuma Street will also be utilized. The entire site will be double-fenced with the City Stage across the street at the far end. A “beer garden” tent will be set up in the street with tables and chairs. Restrooms, trash, staging, etc. will be located on the back half of the City lot out of the way. Approximately 10 breweries and 1 winery will be set up on the street to allow pedestrian traffic to flow easily. There will also be a VIP tent (likely on the Pierce lot) and “dance floor” area in front of the stage.
Entertainment:
Music: 6-7 Bands will play throughout the day.
Live Art: 2 local artists will be performing “Live Art” at the festival. Josh Cheney and Brian Lawler. Each will donate the piece they make that day at the festival to be raffled/sold with proceeds to benefit the Club.
Food: One food booth run by volunteers for the Boys & Girls Club of Central AZ will be set up selling brats & sauerkraut, burgers, hot dogs, sodas, water, etc. All proceeds from this booth will go directly to BGCCAZ. (Local restaurants will NOT be invited to have a booth at the festival.)
Security: The Eagles (Steve Gottlieb) will be providing security at the event in cooperation with the Prescott Police Department.
