1st Annual Grand International’s Winter Horseshoe Tournament
Deer Valley #3871 in beautiful Glendale, Arizona has been awarded the 1st Annual Winter Horseshoe Tournament by the Grand Aerie. The dates are February 24th – 26th, 2012. We invite all of our Eagle Brothers and Sisters to join us for the first of what we’re hoping to be an annual event.
Deer Valley #3871 has been around for over 30 years and sits on 5 acres of property in a mobile home park. There is plenty of parking for RVs on the back lot so however you arrive; we have the room for you. We will also have Shuttle Vans to help you get to and from your hotel. Come join the fun as we have live music, food, and drink during the tournaments.
Deer Valley, for years has had horseshoe pits. We started with 6, and then added 6 more for a total of 12. Once the Winter Tournament was decided, we invested in 15 more pits including 3 handicap pits. All work was completed at the beginning of December in time for our Annual Emerald Society Tournament which attracts over 100 players from the Irish Fire Fighters Club that honors of one their own lost in the line of duty.
With the new pits come new opportunities, including the Special Olympics of Arizona playing at Deer Valley in the future, along with the Arizona State Tournament. We have 700 members and plenty of volunteers to help you with whatever you need. Check out the Grand Website for Registration information and a Flyer announcing the event.
