The argument has been festering for years re: who is Ireland's greatest Rock Star. I don't think it's even close. Sure...Bob Geldof raised tens of millions for Africa. And Bono has a Nobel Peace Prize nomination for his charity work. But, to quote Sean Connery "There can be only one." And that one...is Philip Parris Lynott (Pro: "Linnit" BTW).
I have extremely mixed emotions about Thin Lizzy touring without Philip. I know Ricky Warwick is doing a fantastic job. I'm not so much angry, as disappointed. For me, Lizzy without Phil, is like Aerosmith without Steven. Or, Priest without Halford. It can exist...but the entire heart & soul of what made the music magical for me, would be absent. There's something about Phil that exuded cool. He had "it." You can't define it. But, you know it when you see it. Phil...was it. So, today's "Second Helping" is from "'tin lizzie!"
