I...know what you're thinkin'...
It would be *so* easy to jump to the conclusion that these postponed dates are the result of some band infighting. I'm told that's simply *not* the case.
Consider this: POSTPONED is not CANCELLED. Were the band to "hate each other" as has been reported by some lazy online bloggers, they'd call it off now.
They *just* added a bunch of dates last week. Which is an indicator that things are going fine, and they're prepared to commit to more touring. It's obvious that they're still engaged in dalogue to extend the tour. They've been going hard for months with *no* reports of issues whatsoever.
Enter, Europe.
According to some reports, the band are entertaining dates overseas, and apparently, a potential appearance at the Olympics.
This would necessitate a re-scheduling of the Summer dates that coincide with the Olympic schedule.
I know people think they smell blood in the water. Not the case. Van Halen are rolling across America (and it looks like the world outside) without missing a beat. Show reviews are stellar. Ed's playing is energized and brilliant (unlike in 2004 & 2007), and we're seeing one of the greats, doing what few bands do as well...maybe for the last time. The fact is...they're close to 60 now. They want to make sure they have everything laid out properly so they can get the right amount of rest between gigs.
But...to put the rumors to rest...The band's *not* fighting. They *don't* hate each other.
Let's relax and enjoy our show on June 16th!
Don't forget...our boy Dee Snider...in studio...today!!!
