Today's Zia Records "Second Helping"

If you've listened over the years, you know I'm a big Cult fan. It kinda bugs me that they don't seem to get the respect they deserve in the overall. Remember, when they first hit, we were all listening to Huey Lewis. Now, Huey...jammed with Thin Lizzy back in the day & that's cool. But then...Yeah. So, you gotta put it in perspective. When the Cult released the seminal "Love" record, it did in 1985, what "Nevermind" did 6 years later. Of course, we all know "Electric" & "Sonic Temple." And, the band have been one of the more volatile outfits in Rock history. But, when they make music, it's explosive. Which brings me to today's "Second Helping" track. This one is from their big reunion CD. Released 11 years ago, "Beyond Good & Evil" was a GREAT Cult CD. Unfortunately, it didn't catch on the way the band, or fans would have loved. Nu Metal was still the flavor of the minute, and it got criminally overlooked. So...why not re-introduce the single from that record? Here's "Rise." Enjoy!
