If you've listened to me over the years, you know I have always been a huge fan of the band Riot (not to be confused with Quiet Riot). Riot is one of those bands that never seems to get the respect they deserve for being as good as they are. They've gone through a couple of incarnations. Which, I'm sure has contributed to their being overlooked. Their original singer, Guy Speranza died years ago. His replacement, Rhett Forrester was tragically shot during a carjacking attempt in 1994. And just yesterday, original guitarist Mark Reale died from complications due to Crohn's Disease. He was only 57. The band has released an excellent collection of music. In 1987, they re-launched as more of a Powel Metal band. But, they're still best known for this song. So, in tribute to Mark Reale, here's "Swords & Tequila." Recorded back in their early club days. If you love Hard Rock...you should seek out everything by Riot.
