I love Sir Charles. To hear his recent quotes re: Tim Tebow, makes me smile. I too am tired of listening to the mediots debate his worthiness in the NFL. However…I’ll make it as simple as possible; Tim Tebow may never be a great NFL Quarterback. But…he is already a great NFL player. To me...the definition of “greatness” is when you know something is coming…and there’s nothing you can do to stop it. Tebow has that. I know everyone wants to say the Denver Defense is playing better, so they’re winning. I agree. But…isn’t that the same Defense that played with Kyle Orton? Why weren’t they playing that hard for him? Because Kyle Orton is a better QB, but nowhere near the football player Tim Tebow is. Tim plays hard. And his intensity is infectious. He wants it so bad, that the other guys on that Broncos team have seen what real passion for the game is, and they want to play with the same passion.
That being said…let’s let the kid play & get off the religion thing. Who cares? It’s his business. And if he wants to give glory to his deity of choice for his good fortune, is that so wrong? The kid is proud. Let him enjoy himself. I don’t like hearing it…so I don’t listen to him speak. I watch him play football That’s what he is…a football player. As a Raiders fan…I hate the Broncos. But, as a football fan…I can’t help but love the way he plays the game.
Now then…shall we get to the picks??
Kansas City at NY Jets – As I said weeks ago, I’m tired of Rex Ryan’s weekly bloviation. However, if the Jets lose to the Chiefs this week, it will be funny to watch him lose it at the post-game press conference. Not gonna happen. Jets.
Tampa Bay at Jacksonville – Tampa has been inconsistent. But, they’re good enough to beat the Jags.
New England at Washington – This is not a given. The Skins may pull off the upset. In fact…I’m taking them. After watching what the pathetic Colts did last week, I think the Pats are infinitely beatable.
Atlanta at Carolina – Falcons. Cam can’t do enough. Although they *are* at home. I still take ATL.
Indianapolis at Baltimore – Really? Ravens. Big.
Philadelphia at Miami – I think it’s Andy’s swan-song. The Iggles are half-assin’ it now. The Dolphins are loving playing spoiler. Take the fish at home.
Minnesota at Detroit – Interesting game. The Lions are feeling the heat as faders. I think they win this one @ home against Minny.
New Orleans at Tennessee – Saints. They’re sending a message to GB that they’re as good as the Pack. When they meet in the NFC title game..that’ll be the real Superbowl.
Houston at Cincinnati Maybe the best game of the week. Both teams need this one to remain in the AFC playoff hunt. We *could* see 3 teams from the AFC North make it…if Cincy can keep playing well. Houston needs to lock up the South. Good game to watch. If the weather sucks…take the Bungles. I am.
Chicago at Denver – The Bears defense vs. The Tebows. It’s going to be cold. Tebow is a Florida guy…Not sure he’ll be able to run like he has been. Taking the Bears.
San Francisco at Arizona – Niners have locked up the West. No reason to get anyone hurt. But…I can’t pick the Cards. That Vikings win haunts me. Look at it this way…since I stopped pickin’ them, they’ve been winning.
Buffalo at San Diego – This game is so uninteresting, they’re not showing it in SoCal. I think Buffalo can win it. But, the Chargers feel good again since last week’s win. Take SD @ home.
Oakland at Green Bay – Nobody can beat Green Bay.
NY Giants at Dallas – This is a good game. I hate Tony Romo. And I think the Giants hate him too. Taking NY to walk into Dallas and bitch-slap the ‘Boys.
St. Louis at Seattle – If you think the MNF team can get off track…Watch this game. No other reason. Take Seattle…but don’t watch this game. Trust me.
There ya go! Let’s see what’s up!
