Sorry so late this week. This cold is kicking my in the junk…repeatedly. Good to see everyone last night @ “Miracle on 32nd St” Thanks for helping the kids over at the Phoenix Children’s Hospital.
Here we go…Week 13(?) of the season. Weirdness abound due to injuries and such. Donovan McNabb is now available as a free agent & I suspect will be signing somewhere by Monday afternoon. I’m already down one game because I knew Philly was bad, but I didn’t see Seattle, who (as you know if you read my stuff every week) are coached by one of the most mediocre pro coaches ever, Slapping them around the way they did Thursday night. Andy Reid has *got* to go.
Speaking of which, lots of coaches should consider not renewing their car insurance for next year in their current locations. Among them, Mike Shanahan, Todd Haley, Tony Sparano, & Norv Turner. I actually think Wiz needs to go too. But, the Bidwells seem to like him, and he hasn’t had a whole lot to work with. Realistically, he’s a decent OC, but I think the “it” that it takes to be a good HC in the NFL is missing. Again…not unlike Norv, Chan Gailey, and Todd Haley.
We may lose a coach this week. Who knows? Meanwhile, let’s see how I think the games will play out:
Carolina at Tampa Bay – Good game. TB is fighting off the “mediocre” tag” and Carolina seems to have sputtered a bit. Obviously they’ve been in a rebuilding mode this season and seem content to let this year be about Cam Newton getting adjusted to the NFL game-speed. He’s about ready. Except Steve Smith is now tired. However, Freeman is out. Taking the Panthers
Cincinnati at Pittsburgh – Possible game-of-the-week. Cincinnati’s defense has been sneaky good, and the Steelers have been inconsistent. The fact that 3 teams from this Division might make the playoffs is scary. In Pittsburgh, taking the Steelers.
Atlanta at Houston – ATL has to keep winning. New Orleans is making their push. Houston’s QB woes continue. Take the birds
NY Jets at Washington – Rex Grossman isn’t the issue in Washington. However, Mark Sanchez is in NY. Skins @ home in an upset.
Indianapolis at New England – Really? Pats. Big.
Oakland at Miami – Sparano is most likely gone. These guys are playing for jobs now. The key is to stop Devon Bess & Cameron Wake. Do that, and pressure Matt Moore & this should be an easy Oakland win. They won’t & this comes down to Moby Kick again. Raiders…barely.
Denver at Minnesota – AP is out. Take the Tebows.
Tennessee at Buffalo – Tennessee. Buffalo has been exposed. They need another WR, and RB depth hurts. Plus that OL has run out of gas. It’s been a good year for the Bills though.
Kansas City at Chicago – KC will not win another game this season.
Baltimore at Cleveland – Baltimore scares their fans. One week, they’re unbeatable. The next, they’re “meh.” Cleveland plays them tough @ home. I wouldn’t be shocked to see an upset here, but I’m taking the Ravens. They’re rested and on a roll after beating up SF.
Dallas at Arizona – Dallas sucks. But I can’t pick the Cards based upon their loss to Minny earlier this season. So, I gotta take the Cowboys.
Green Bay at NY Giants – If GB is going to lose, it could be this week in NJ. They have some injuries and Coughlin may have the plan. However, Aaron Rodgers is simply so good, I think he can carry them to this win. Take the Pack.
St. Louis at San Francisco – Sam Bradford is so brittle, he’ll never be a real NFL QB. Niners bounce back and lay a beating on the Rams.
Detroit at New Orleans – Game of the week II. New Orleans are almost unbeatable @ home. This should be a shootout. Suh is out and I expect NOLA to actually work the run early. Saints.
San Diego at Jacksonville –Jacksonville in an upset. The Chargers are simply embarrassing. Phillip Rivers is hype & Norv can’t coach. The Jags have new ownership & are playing for pride. MoJo Drew is the AFC’s leading rusher. I think Norv gets the axe this week with a loss. Taking the Jags.
There you go. I went 10-6 last week. I know the picks never got published. It was the holiday. My apologies.
Never let it be said that I pick safely! This could be a great week based upon how medicated I am. The Crud is going around. Get some medicine now. It sucks.
