NEANDERPICKS PART "DUH!"

As we roll in to Week 2…I, like many people had a horrible first week of the season. Tough to make picks on the first week. Because you have no idea what teams were hiding what they were in the preseason, and how many were really bad. So, hopefully all of us have a better round this week. Although, if you’re Kevin Kolb, you gotta think *someone* hates you for giving you the chance to show what you have…vs. an apparently reborn Patriots defense.

Cardinals at Patriots : This is going to be a beatdown of the highest order. Even the most staunch supporter of the Red Birds has to know this is a loss. All you can hope for here is that nobody gets hurt, and lost for the season. Coach Wiz, if you’re reading (and I know you are!), use this game to work on the running game. You have to get Williams, and Beanie on track. Stephens-Howling is the best RB on this team right now. That’s not the formula for contention. You have to have more than one guy. You know this.

Buccaneers at Giants : I can’t imagine that the Giants are going to lose 2 in a row at home to start the season. I’m not convinced the Bucs have righted the ship (see what I did there?) Taking Big Blue.

Raiders at Dolphins : The Raiders gave the game away last week because they didn’t have a backup long-snapper. They held the SD offense to 1 TD, and their defense was excellent considering they began the entire 2nd half in the hole against a team full of weapons that they held to 5 FGs. Miami isn’t even a 3rd the team SD is. Taking the Raiders. Big….because I believe the Defense will score more than Miami’s Offense.

Texans at Jaguars : Houston are generally considered to be contenders in the AFC. I don’t know if they can contain MoJo at home. However, he’s their only threat. And the Texans have the Fitz of the AFC in Andre Johnson. If Houston’s for real, they have to win games like these on the road. They will.

Browns at Bengals : I think the Browns are the tougher team. But, they may want to put McCoy back in as their QB. He gives them the best chance to win right now. Wheedon later. If they lose this, their season is over already.

Chiefs at Bills : KC clearly has the more talented team. Buffalo came back nicely last week. If the Chiefs that played the first half against Atlanta show up, this is an ass kicking. If not, Buffalo steals this. Shocking all of my friends in the Midwest, I believe in KC more than Buffalo. Taking the Chiefs.

Ravens at Eagles : The Eagles looked terrible against a terrible team. Baltimore is going to kick the snot out of them in their own house. This may be the Ravens year in the AFC.

Saints at Panthers : The Saints are *not* the same team without Payton on the sidelines. We saw it last week. Fortunately for them, The Panthers entire offense is Cam Newton. Take NOLA.

Vikings at Colts : Really interesting game. Luck is for real. I think he can win this. AP was a pleasant surprise last week. He seems like a good dude, and you like to see those guys come back. I have to take Minnesota based upon the fact that Luck is still experiencing growing pains. 3 weeks from now, I take Indy. This week, the Vikings win it.

Redskins at Rams : Surprise! The Rams don’t suck. Jeff Fisher is the difference. But oh my…RGIII is making believers really quick. I don’t think STL can shut him down all day. The ‘Skins put up a ton of points on a great team. I think they beat an improved STL.

Cowboys at Seahawks : Cowboys. Big. I simply am never going to believe Pete Carroll is a good NFL coach. He’s never been one in the past. I don’t believe he is one now. Wilson might be decent. But, we’ll never know for sure. Because he’s coached by a career-failure. Dallas.

Jets at Steelers : I’m taking the Jesters. I didn’t see the great Pittsburgh team that everyone believes they are. Troy’s not playing. Mendenhall’s not playing. Raplesberger is on the downhill. Gang Green wins. Oh, and HUGE props to Mark Sanchez. You might not be an elite NFL QB, but son…you’re tagging Eva Longoria. Nobody can take that away from you.

Titans at Chargers : If Hasslebeck plays, Tennessee. But, I think Sandy Eggo are going to win it.

Lions at 49ers : Should be a brutal game. The Niners are my favorite to win it all this year. They have the “it” you look for. The Harbaughs are better coaches than they ever were QBs. Both of them might be visiting New Orleans in February.

Broncos at Falcons: Game of the week. Peyton Manning once again proves to be the smartest QB to ever play the game. Matt Ryan is what the mediots would love Romo, Rivers, and Cutler to be. The Falcons are stacked. But, the master still has the tools if he can stay healthy. Taking ATL at home…and that’s the only reason.

There’s Week 2! Look forward to the smack talk on Monday! Go Devils!
