I came to realize recently that I've been doing radio for *over* half my life. When one has revelations such as these, you sorta take stock in how you've come to where you are. You ask yourself why you do what you do. And every time I ask that question, the answer is the same...
I. Love. Music.
It's that simple. I consider it a gift. Music has always been that thing that moved me beyond all other influences. That's why, when I hear how stale and stagnant people say it's become, I get bummed out. It's far from it. So...I decided, instead of debating the subject with the nay-sayers, I was going to produce some programs that highlight great music, and hopefully stoke the flames of enjoyment for you, the way it always has for me.
Which is why I couldn't be happier to present, two extended versions of features I do every afternoon on KDKB:
-> Second Helping Online! <- a weekly hour-long show, that looks at deeper tracks from our favorite bands, and some other stuff that may have been missed the first time around. Stuff you normally won't hear on-air, and new bands that don't fit any mold. No rules allowed! Everything from Classic Rock, Blues, to Alternative, and everything in between. Hell, maybe even some Hip-Hop! Who knows? All I know is, it's unlike anything on the radio, anywhere. You'll find it *only* here on KDKB.com (Of course, until other stations give a listen, and decide to copy the idea...and they will). Give a listen. See if you don't love music again...
->Neanderpaul's Hairball-On-Demand!< - If you've ever listened, at any radio station I've ever been on in America, you already know how much I love Hard Rock. All styles and flavors. Be it "Metal," or "Hair Bands," or whatever. I used to watch the Hard Rock TV shows on cable. Who am I kidding? I used to tape those shows! When that style went out of favor, I was crushed. Thankfuly, I not only have one of the best collections of that music in my own library...I have the entire library of one of America's biggest Rock Stations to draw from. This is going to be a blast! If you love the "House Of Hair" (heard Saturday Nights on KDKB), you're going to *love* the "Hairball-On Demand!" For (at least) an hour a week you can escape to the thrilling days of yore, when it was *all* about hot chicks and rippin's tunes!
I'll say it again: I love music. If you feel the same way, I invite you to check out both shows (click tshow names to listen), every week. I hope you enjoy 'em, as much as I enjoy putting 'em together.
You should *never* have to pay to hear great music. Now, you don't have to!
Thanks for Listening!
