I've made no secret of this; I absolutely *love* this band. If there ever were a legitimate reason to hate the crap "Hair Bands" that were actually responsible for the genre's demise (Don't blame Nirvana!), the fact that this baby got thrown out with the bath water, is it. These guys were simply everything you'd want in a great Rock band. Fantastic singer, hotshot guitarist, solid rhythm section, and kick-ass songs. If you're not aware of them, peep former Ozzy guitarist Jake E. Lee, former & current KISS drummer, Eric Singer, the valley's own Greg Chaisson, and the most underrated vocalist of his time, Ray Gillen (who sang for Black Sabbath briefly...you can find his work on the deluxe version of "The Eternal Idol", and a GREAT live show from Hammersmith, on the deluxe version of "Seventh Star"). Ray's work with Badlands consisted of 3 CDs, plus he went on to do stuff with Rondinelli, and Sun Red Sun, before tragically passing from AIDS-related illness. Truly an amazing singer,and an amazing band. One of my all-time favorites. Dig on some Badlands!
