With today's unfortunate passing of Beastie Boy, Adam Yauch, I was asked my thoughts on their inclusion in the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame. I responded with an emphatic "YES! They belong!"
Why?
No Beastie Boys, No Linkin Park, Eminem, Limp Bizkit etc. Beastie Boys & Run DMC were the first Hip Hop artists to drop Hard Rock samples into their music. And...in the case of Beastie Boys, they actually *played* as a Hardcore band, prior to becoming Rap legends. Their influence spread far & wide. Even in to the world of Glam Metal.
