metallica.com: The band is clearing the air about the military and torture.
Metallica says, "There has been a lot of talk recently about us asking the military not to use our music to "soften people up before interrogation". We NEVER commented to the military either way on this matter. Any statements that have been made otherwise are not correct."
Back in 2008 a Germany-language TV network 3SAT asked James Hatfield about the band's music being used at Guantanamo Bay and he said, "Part of me is proud because they chose Metallica."
"And then part of me is kind of bummed about it that people worry about us being attached to some political statement because of that."
"We've got nothing to do with this and we're trying to be as apolitical as possible, 'cause I think politics and music, at least for us, don't mix." - Antimusic.com
I don't talk politics unless it is about the evil monkeys who try to corrupt our sacred family values, our glorious future and our hard-working families. That I am against! And...I don't know what I just said, but it sounded political...didn't it?! (We just discovered another reason I'm not working on CSPAN.)
It is your patriotic duty to listen to as much Metallica as possible! It is the 93rd Amendment or something! KDKB believes in your rights to express your freedoms and to listen to Metallic. So check out Mandatory Metallica weeknights at 10p with Mike Gaube.
I have no career as a political writer. Do I?
