Bob Dylan is the first rock artist voted into the American Academy of Arts and Letters. The Academy recognizes music, literature and visual art and was unable to decide if Dylan belonged for his words or his music. So they inducted him as an honorary member. Other Academy honorees are Meryl Streep, Woody Allen and Martin Scorsese.
