A big thank you for all the birthday greetings on 4/20! I appreciate all the emails, Facebook & Twitter posts, phone calls, and everyone that took time out of their day to tell me I was another year older.
To kick off my birthday celebration I was at T-Mobile - Single Butte & US 60 in Mesa. Not the typical place to have a party but my philosophy is that it's not where you are, but who you're with; and that makes the party!
KDKB listener's rule! I'm always amazed at the lengths they go to show appreciation for some voice in a box who plays their favorite song. Jennifer stopped by with some birthday cupcakes and yes they were delicious! Tom and his girlfriend drove from North Phoenix (35 miles one way) just to say hi. You guys are awesome!
I also have to give props to Phil Shearon and the T-Mobile crew for making my job so easy! They were excited about KDKB being there and we had tons of fun! They let me Test Drive the 4G network that everyone has been talking about. I thought it was hype but the speeds are amazing! Up to 42Mbs. That's faster than my cable internet connection!
A Windows mobile representative was in the T-Mobile show-room and he handed me the Nokia Lumia 710. I couldn't believe how instant everything is on the phone. So easy to use and it's the first phone I've been able to edit Word and Excel documents. If you don't have a smartphone you're missing out on some really cool stuff. I'm constantly using the navigation and maps to get me from point A to point B. (I'm directionally challenged)
This is almost sounding like a pitch, but I was just very impressed with the phone and the T-Mobile 4G network. Plus Phil and his crew were so accommodating and friendly, not just to me but everyone else that came in. No sales pitch just, "have you seen this new phone and what it can do?"
