There's a clip of Chris Cornell going around the 'net of hbis performance of the Dolly Parton song "I Will Always Love You." Obviously, made famous by Whitney Houston. Now, I'm not going into the Whitney subject. She was no a Rock artist. I don't care. However, it did remind me of a GREAT cover that Cornell did live for European Radio a few years back. No...not "Billie Jean" (He *did* do it though). No, I'm talking about a ballsy choice to cover Zeppelin. Normally, everyone who tries, fails miserably. There are just some bands that you don't attempt. The songs are held in almost sacred regard. Cornell...has been called the greatest rock singer of his generation. There are those who'll debate that. There's no debating that when he's on....it's brilliant. He was on on this night. Enjoy today's "Second Helping." I think this version may be different than the one I played on air.
