Twenty years after the original debut of Dumb and Dumber, the sequel Dumb and Dumber To finally has a release date of November 14th 2014. Both original stars, Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels are returning and production has already begun according to a statement made by Daniels on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon earlier this summer.
Daniels recently told Rolling Stone that the sequel would top the first film in every way that it could, saying that, “the toilet scene look lame – pales in comparison,” with the new stuff they have planned. The plot this time around centers on the two friends going on a road trip to find Harry's [Daniels] long-lost daughter. The film will feature original directors Peter and Bobby Farrelly and will also star Rob Riggle, Rachel Melvin, Steven Tom, Kathleen Turner, Laurie Holden, and a cameo by Jennifer Lawrence.
I remember the first Dumb and Dumber quite fondly, and though I would not say that I like the prequel movie, Dumb and Dumberer: When Hary Met Lloyd, it did have a few good moments in it. Personally I think it will be hard to top the first movies laughs, especially after almost twenty years, but I suppose anything is possible. Theoretically at least, or in some parallel dimension.
