On this day of recognition, we join the rest of America to honor all who have served in the past, and those who serve us today. When you greet a Veteran, please not only thank them for having the strength to do what so few would. Welcome them home. Also, take a moment ask them how they're doing. During yesterday's Veteran's Ride, I met so many heores who aren't looking for praise. They're looking for compassion. There's a big difference. So many have a story to tell, and to be able to do so, can make a huge impact.
No words can ever express our appreciation, or repay the debt we owe for our freedom. However, listening when they need it, can show them we care. And caring for something bigger than oneself is what compelled them to answer the Nation's call in the first place.
We can do more for them. Please show your love & respect every day. They've certainly earned it.
