One Of My Favorites Is Today's Hairball

I LOVE THIS BAND!!! Of all the bands that got unfairly tagged as a "Hair Band," thius is by far my favorite. Whenever I get an e-mail askng for Badlands, I'm all about it. Gaube was mentioning that Jake E. Lee played on the most recent E'Nuff Z'Nuff CD. I am sure he lays down some great guitar. read more ≫

It's 4:20 Hairpiece..er..Hairball Time!

One of the first Valley musicians I had a chance to meet when I came to KDKB, was "Wild" Mick Brown. Mick came in to the station on the day Chuck Berry was opening for Tom Petty. He heard Chuck blaring out of my office, and stopped by to shoot the sh*t. read more ≫

4:20 Hairball...If you don't like...

Extreme are a great Hard Rock band. As is often the case, there're a bunch of bands that came at the end of the "hair" era that got unfairly lumped in. It makes sense that Gary would later get a chance to hook up with Van Halen as Extreme were so influenced by them. read more ≫

The 4:20 Hairball!...Monday Edition

Another one frome the "came too late" category. By the time these guys rolled out, the tide had gone out and they were on "Hair Band Island." Their CD "Every Dog Has It's Day" was an absolute killer record. The drum sound alone was enough to stir up some of the ladies' squishy parts. read more ≫

Hairball Overload!!!!

Ok...so here's the thing...Whitesnake are an awesome band. They got caught up in the "image" thing in the mid-80's. And honestly, they are absolutely to blame for being labeled a "hair band." In fact...I think it's actually damaged their legacy overall. The older stuff with Mel Galley is great. read more ≫
